SNE renews its commitment to promote physical activity, with practical tips for athletes to eat right and perform their best
Six weeks ahead of the European Week of Sport, Specialised Nutrition Europe (SNE), representing the specialised nutrition industry across the European Union, including manufacturers of sports food, renews its commitment to promote physical activity.
Research continues to underline the importance of sport for individuals’ health and well-being, alongside the benefits for society and the economy.
SNE takes responsibility for ensuring the availability of safe and appropriate sports foods for consumers across Europe, responding to consumers’ needs and expectations, through:
- Clear, legible and appropriate information on sports food labels, to ensure the correct use of the products;
- Nutritional composition adapted to sportspeople’s specific needs before, during or after exercise;
- Compliance with good manufacturing practices to prevent the presence of doping substances.
In order to increase awareness about appropriate nutrition before, during and after intense physical activity, SNE will release tips for sportspeople over the next few weeks. These tips will include nutritional information important for before, during, and after physical activity, to ensure appropriate body recovery and avoid muscle injuries.
